American National Standard Institute (ANSI)

UL Standards for Safety approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as American National Standards. ANSI is the central body responsible for the identification of a single, consistent set of voluntary standards.

UL/ANSI standards demonstrate these were developed in an open process where those directly and materially affected by the standards had the chance to participate in the process. In addition, that the principles of consensus were followed.
