UL Collaborative Standards Development System is now live - try it today.

We are excited to announce the arrival of the Web-based UL Collaborative Standards Development System (UL CSDS). UL CSDS has been designed as a convenient and easy way to manage all your UL Standards development activities from one convenient location.

After Oct. 29, the UL CSDS will be used for all:

• New requests to change an existing UL Standard.
• Requests for a new UL Standard
• Information pertaining to new meetings relating to UL Standards activities such as meeting announcements, agendas and reports, and to request and confirm attendance at meetings.
• Commenting or voting on new projects proposing to revise a UL Standard, or to add discussion items to comments made by others.

UL CSDS also sends various e-mails to alert you to new meetings and proposals, when comments and votes are due, when action is required for a meeting or proposal before the due date, and the like. However, it's a good idea to check UL CSDS regularly to stay on top of your projects and up-to-date on your areas of interest.

All new UL Standards development activities initiated after October will be handled using UL CSDS. With the launch of the UL CSDS, UL will discontinue mailing of hard-copy UL Standards proposal bulletins and associated materials.

Transitioning to UL CSDS

UL CSDS includes several online tools to help you become proficient in using the system. To quickly familiarize yourself with the features of UL CSDS, we suggest you access the system tutorials before you log in for the first time. Located in the top navigation bar, the "Help" button links you to a context-sensitive Help function that contains a detailed index describing various UL CSDS functions. An FAQ is also available under the "Help" button. The "Training Material" button offers audio tutorials containing an overview of some of the key things you can do with UL CSDS, and access to some Quick Reference Guides. You are encouraged to review this material prior to logging in for the first time.

It is essential that you visit UL CSDS as soon as possible to become familiar with the features of the tool. Remember: going forward, all UL Standards activities will be performed in UL CSDS. And making a smooth transition to UL CSDS is vital to increasing collaboration and efficiency.
