12.1 Qualitative and quantitative analytical tests are to be conducted on samples of the wire-pulling compound to establish a characterization for general descriptive purposes and to provide a comparative baseline for revealing compositional changes in production lots of the compound. The tests described in 13.1 - 16.1 are conducted for descriptive purposes. The tests described in 17.1 - 19.1 are conducted for comparative purposes. Other characterization tests appropriate for a particular compound composition may supplement or replace those described below.
