1.1 These requirements cover drop-out ceilings assemblies intended for installation beneath sprinklers. During fire conditions, the drop-out ceiling panels are intended to drop from their supports to expose the sprinklers to the fire.
1.2 Drop-out ceilings covered by these requirements are intended to be installed in accordance with Section 4-4.16 in the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13.
