1.1 These requirements cover rigid and flexible air ducting intended to provide an air flow connection between a ventilating fitting or blower and the bilge spaces or other enclosed spaces of a boat.
1.2 The ducting covered by these requirements is intended to be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Fire Protection Standard for Pleasure and Commercial Motor Craft, ANSI/NFPA 302, the American Boat and Yacht Council, Inc., or the United States Coast Guard.
1.3 These requirements do not cover ducting intended for use on heating systems or for any application involving air flow velocities in excess of 5000 feet per minute (25.4 m/s).
