1.1 These requirements cover early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinklers having nominal discharge coefficients up to 14.0 gpm/psi1/2 intended for installation as part of sprinkler systems for fire-protection service. Requirements for installation and use of ESFR sprinklers are included in the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13, as well as other NFPA standards.
