The following topics for the Standard for Thermoset-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL 44, are being recirculated:
1. Major Revisions to UL 44 Based on Publication of UL 2556, and other Revised Construction, Performance, and Marking Requirements Including but not Limited to the Following Significant Changes: Deletion of all Figures, Several Tables, Annex H, and all of the Test Methods, and Extensive Revision of the Test Requirements Section; Deletion of Requirements for Lead-Alloy Conductors; Various Revisions to Marking Requirements Including Those for Aluminum Conductors, Clarification of Country-Specific Marking Requirements, and Addition of a Marking for Cables not Intended for Outdoor Use; Revision to the Mandrel Diameter and Related Testing Requirements; Reinstatement of Previously Deleted Requirements for Thickness of Overall Jacket on Deep Well Pump Cables; Clarification to Several Tables Addressing Various Requirements for Types RW75, RW90, RWU75, and/or RWU90 cables; and Miscellaneous Editorial Wording Revisions
