The following is being proposed for preliminary review and comment only:
1. For Preliminary Review Only: The proposed Second edition of the Standard for Cover Plates and Flush Mounted Wiring Devices, UL 514D, includes the following proposals: a) Addition of requirements for the identification of nonmetallic and polymeric materials used in alternate corrosion protection systems; b) Addition and revision of requirements to provide test criteria for extendable cover plates or outlet box hoods; c) Addition of requirements to provide test criteria for illuminating cover plates; d) Editorial revisions that include the re-organization of the standard, updating references and other editorial clarifications.
