The following changes in requirements are being proposed:
1. Proposed Fourth Edition of the Standard for Communications Cables, UL 444, including the following revisions; (a) addition of new Appendix A, "Electrical codes for wire types", (b) addition of the marking "-CI" for cable meeting the requirements for Circuit Integrity Cable in the National Electrical Code (NEC), (c) revision to paragraph 4.9.3 to clarify that cable with an unbonded metal shield be excluded from the jacket peel test, (d) revision to paragraph 6.3.2.4, to add provisions for a retest of the flexing test for PVDF rated 125°C, foamed, or multi-layered insulations, (e) revision to paragraph 6.20 and Table 3A to provide for Cross-connect Wire (Cable), (f) addition of insulation or jacket material types MFA and FRPP to Tables 8 and 9, and the removal of the exclusion of certain FRPE insulation and jacket compounds from testing in Table 9, (g) editorial corrections to provide clarity and improved wording, (h) revisions to replace references to UL 1581 with reference to the Standard for Wire and Cable Test Methods, UL 2556.
