The following changes in requirements to the Standard for Ice Makers, UL 563, are being proposed:
1. Addition and revision of glossary terms
2. Addition of requirements for nonmetallic materials including deletion of horizontal burning test - HBF, HF-1, or HF-2 foamed materials and addition of fastener strength test and burnout test - impedance protected motors
3. Addition of strain relief test
4. Revisions to enclosure requirements
5. Revisions to internal wiring requirements
6. Addition of requirements for secondary circuits
7. Revisions to conditions for input test and temperature-pressure test
8. Addition of marking requirements with respect to minimum circuit ampacity and maximum current rating of overcurrent protective devices and revision to limited short-circuit test
9. Addition of an exception to paragraph 32.1 dealing with higher leakage current to ground
10. Addition of an exception to paragraph 20.1.2.2 that allows components to be evaluated to UL 60730-1A and UL 60730-2-9
11. Miscellaneous revisions, including outside reference updates, clarifications, and removal of the term "R12" and all its variations for refrigerants from the standard
