The following changes in requirements are being proposed:
1. Revisions to update to current brick specifications in 3.1.
2. Revisions to remove the requirement for a chart recorder in 3.7, 5.10 and 5.11.
3. Revision to clarify sample conditioning in 4.2.
4. Addition of 4.3, preparation and mounting of test specimens in accordance with ASTM practices, and deletion of redundant requirements in Appendix A.
5. Revision to clarify percent obscuration on the red oak smoke density figure, Figure 5.4.
6. Revisions to add the moisture meter as an alternate means of determining red oak moisture content in 5.9.
7. Addition of 5.12 and 5.13 providing details for calibration frequency.
8. Clarification of photocell output recording in 6.4.
9. Revisions to remove the requirements for a chart recorder and the plotting of temperature in 6.7.
10. Revisions to remove the requirements for a chart recorder and allowance for soot accumulation on the photocell in 7.1.6.
