The following changes in requirements are being proposed:
1. Editorial corrections and updates to references
2. Editorial revisions to simplify, clarify, or consolidate requirements
3. Revised definitions for automatic load control relay and central station battery lighting and power systems; new definition for floor proximity exit sign
4. Simplification of and alternative requirements for enclosures
5. Clarification that evidence must exist to support a performance characteristic claim for polymeric material
6. Clarification of required testing based on risks associated with conductor secureness
7. Adjustment of electronic circuit operational requirements
8. Adjustment of derangement signal operational requirements
9. Revisions to test switch requirements to use consistent terminology and establish mandatory language and to limit access to a maintained-break type test switch to service personnel
10. Clarification of requirements for self-testing/self-diagnostic equipment
11. Consolidation and clarification of requirements for disconnect switches and fuses
12. Proposal to allow UL 746E as an alternative to the conformal coating requirements in Sections 56 and 57
13. Re-align requirements for flashing exit signs with UL 1638, delete the flashing rate stability reference, and adjust the reference for energizing at rated voltage
14. Clarification of test voltages to expand the range of product voltage ratings subject to testing at either 120 or 240 volts
15. Revision of the leakage current test to not require continuation of leakage current measurements through thermal stabilization
16. Clarification of normal operation test requirements for manual test switches
17. Revision of test method for standby rating input test
18. Proposal to separate the over and undervoltage tests into two separate sections, edit for consistent terminology , and adjust the test voltage to represent a modestly more severe condition
19. Proposal to delete the humidity test in 56.3.1 as it is covered by 56.2.1
20. Revision of test requirements for low frequency inverters
21. Revision of test requirements for high frequency inverters
22. Proposal to delete the alternative test program for battery recognition, Supplement SA
23. Proposal to address redundant requirements in Supplement SB - Retrofit Fluorescent Fixture Inverter/Charger Packs
24. Separation of extended ambient ratings from damp/wet ratings
25. Proposal to eliminate low temperature testing of fluorescent and electroluminescent lamps
26. Proposal to delete requirements for battery temperature regulation in Supplements SC and SD
27. Proposal to not specify both gasket adhesion tests in SD4.8.1
28. Proposal to revise photoluminescent sign conditioning and activation levels
29. Proposal to delete the exemption for minimum light output testing in Section SH2
30. Luminance and illuminance measurement equipment parameters
