The following changes in requirements are being proposed:
1. Clarification of the scope as it relates to the structural support of Video Displays
2. Revision of Glossary of Terms to define portable furnishings, stationary furnishings, fixed furnishings and addition of definitions from the Standard for Small Office/Home Office
3. New and revised stability requirements
4. Clarification on how various furnishings are to be loaded for the temperature test, not just furnishings supporting a human being
5. Addition of testing to ANSI/SOHO S 6.5 and clarification of testing of massage tables and chairs
6. Revision of the structural loading requirement from twice the video monitor weight to a 100 pound safety factor
7. Establishing consistency within the standard of the load imparted by a human being to be 300 pounds minimum
8. Reference to ANSI Z97.1, Class A
9. Editorial revisions
10. Use of Technical Bulletin 133, Flammability Test Procedure for Seating Furniture for use in Public Occupancies
11. Application of component faults in control circuits and additional UL 991 parameters related to the safety of electronic control systems
12. Force limitation requirement to correlate UL 962 and UL 2442
13. Addition of a humidity conditioning test and leakage current or insulation resistance test
14. Reliability of electrical and electronic motor controls
15. Addition of requirements for polymeric device supporting means
16. Additional requirements for outdoor use furnishings with convenience receptacles
17. New Supplement SA for loads on the output of NEC Class 2, LPS, or SELV power supplies
18. New Supplement SB for heated glazing utilizing conductive coating technology
19. Addition of requirements for furnishings for use with water
