Revision pages have been issued for the Standard for Motor-Operated Appliances, UL 73 to reflect the latest ANSI approval date and to incorporate the proposals dated May 11, 2007 and October 12, 2007. The proposals included the following:
• Rearrangement of current wording for 21.3.1 to clarify existing requirement specifying what products shall have thermal or overload protection.
• Revisions to 12.1.2.5 and 12.2.1.2 to clearly identify cord types that are allowable for stationary appliances and supply connections for fixed, portable and stationary appliances, and related definitions.
• New exception to 12.1.2.9 for power supply cord attachment plug ratings for electric motor starters for use with internal combustion engines.
• Deletion of redundant marking requirements for outdoor use plumbing accessories and clarification of outdoor use marking.
• Correction of warning marking in 56.3.4 to clarify that the marking only applies to outdoor use appliances.
• Relocation of the exception for double insulated appliances in 58.4, item (f), to item (m).
