Summary of Topics

This new edition of ANSI/UL 467 harmonizes UL and CSA requirements for grounding and bonding equipment. The following summarizes the changes:

• This new edition has been reorganized to be consistent with the harmonized standards for Wire Connectors (UL 486A-486B) and Splicing Wire Connectors (UL 486C), for specific tests applicable to grounding and bonding equipment;

• Minimum sample requirements for testing have been clarified and organized into a new section;

• Short time test current table has been expanded to include smaller and larger wire sizes, aluminum conductors, and a formula was added for additional sizes;

• Flammability requirements for throat liners realigned to correspond with related requirements in the Standard for Conduit, Tubing, and Cable Fittings, UL 514B;

• The section on ground rod electrodes was reorganized and aligned with present practices and allowances; and

• The markings on ground clamps are more detailed, including those for re-bar.
