This new eighth edition was issued to:
- Add flammability requirements to align with changes in flammability requirements in the Standard for Polymeric Materials - Use In Electrical Equipment Evaluations, UL 746C;
- Add requirements to address thermistor-type devices used as temperature controls;
- Clarify requirements for seals and diaphragms;
- Clarify accessibility requirements; and
- Replace leakage current requirements with a reference to the Standard for Leakage Current for Appliances, UL 101.
