The third edition of the Standard for Optical Fiber Cable, UL 1651, has been issued to reflect the latest ANSI approval date and to incorporate the proposals dated April 18, 2008. These proposals include the following:
• Editorial revisions to paragraphs 1.2, 7.1 and 8.1.
• Revision to clarify the failure criteria for the Vertical-Tray Flame Test in paragraph 9.2.2..
• Relocation and renumbering of the Sunlight Resistance Test to Section 10.
• Revision to the Durability of Print method in paragraph 11.1.
• Clarification of the method for measuring jacket thickness in paragraph 5.1.
• Revision to replace the reference to UL 1581 with UL 2556 in paragraphs 3.1 and 10.1.
